Positive News Alert!

Tired of political signs? Eyes weary from reading about blighted homes and what to do about them? Soon, Marietta residents will begin to see a new kind of yard sign and positive news articles.

There is a lot of focus on what to do with blighted homes! The Marietta Board of Realtors decided to counteract that by putting a new focus on beautiful homes.

You can nominate a Home for Home of the Month!

According to Charlotte Keim, local Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Real Estate Center in Marietta, the Marietta Board is instituting a Home of the Month Contest for the non-winter months (April through November). All home winners will be eligible to win Home of the Year. Home of the Year winner will be announced in December of each year.

The Board of Realtors will place a Home of the Month lawn sign in the front yard of the winning home, and give the homeowners a framed photograph of their home with the sign out front. The Showcase of Homes publication will feature the winning home on the front page.

Criteria for homes include: well kept landscaping, clean and well kept home with no peeling paint or obvious need for repair, and no back taxes owed. All home styles in any area will be considered!

There may still be time to nominate a home for April. You can find more information about the contest here. And you can pick up a nomination form at the Marietta Board of Realtors at 324 Fourth Street, Suite 200, Marietta OH. You can also download the form here.
