Sometimes I wonder if all the questions we ask are really questions or just our way of reassuring ourselves with the same answers over and over again. If you think about it, education is a life-long process of getting- and keeping information. We learn from our peers, ourselves, our families, communities, teachers and even our experiences.

Truth is, education doesn’t only occur in the classrooms- it also takes place in both informal and formal ways. Our experiences and thoughts can teach us about science, mathematics, life, English, and history just as well as a formal classroom. There are lessons in life that can help us reach a higher level of understanding. Through it all, we grow, adapt, and evolve into the people that we were born to be.

Answering Questions at The Ohio University

Athens, Ohio has been home to the main campus of The Ohio University since 1804. This university is known for being centered around the students, and a learning community that can transform a student into so much more, allowing them to realize their promise.

The faculty at Ohio University help nearly 39,000 students advance knowledge. The staff itself is known for achieving excellence in what they do, time and time again. In fact, many of the alumni of Ohio University become global leaders.

Ohio University consists of a main campus, five regional ones, and five centers that offer degrees from 11 different colleges.  According to the Center for World University Rankings, this university is in the top 3{5b6c00ae8a31f44c65b344f315968efbd322bfc6ea45e4e8cca9716c4473fad8} of higher education institutions in the world. Carnegie classifications name OU as a research university. The outstanding faculty is known for research and creative activity that advances knowledge across many disciplines. It truly is a great place for finding the answers that are burning within.

As an alumni myself, I took several research classes including methods. This class taught me that the first step in any research project is to pose questions. Once the questions are formed, the next step is to design a credible project. A good project allows you to try and answer the questions by gathering together data and information and making an educated guess on how those questions might be answered.

But in reality, the fun part comes after we think we have the questions answered, or the solutions found. These solutions or results are likely to disprove the original hypothesis and point to new information that the researcher may not have considered previously. New questions become formed, and our quest for understanding begins anew.

Beginning Again…

New beginnings can happen at any time throughout our lives. Every day we grow, stumble, evolve and change into something new. Finding the answers to the questions and learning how to use our talents will point us in the direction of genuine happiness and success.

Every day there are countless opportunities to ask questions, and to find answers. A valuable opinion comes from personal experience and exploration. Education is an on-going process of obtaining and retaining information.
